There are three common scenarios:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Guest-Initiated Cancellation and Refund<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Guests can cancel their reservation directly through your booking site:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Go to the&nbsp;<strong>Direct Booking Website<\/strong>&nbsp;and view the reservation details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cCancel this Reservation\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The system will automatically apply your&nbsp;<strong>predefined cancellation policy<\/strong>, and the appropriate refund will be issued.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Host-Initiated Refund<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As a host, you can issue a custom partial refund at any time before or during the stay:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In Hostex, go to the&nbsp;<strong>Reservation Details<\/strong>&nbsp;page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the&nbsp;<strong>\u201cRefund\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter the amount you\u2019d like to refund and confirm the refund.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u26a0\ufe0f Please Note:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Only reservations with the status&nbsp;<strong>Upcoming<\/strong>&nbsp;or&nbsp;<strong>In Progress<\/strong>&nbsp;are eligible for refunds.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Refunds are only available for bookings with&nbsp;<strong>online payments<\/strong>. Bookings made via&nbsp;<strong>offline or cash payments<\/strong>&nbsp;are not refundable via Hostex.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multiple partial refunds are allowed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Refundable amount = Total amount received &#8211; Total amount already refunded.<\/strong>&nbsp;You cannot refund more than the refundable balance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For&nbsp;<strong>installment payments<\/strong>, partial refunds cannot exceed the amount already paid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After a partial refund on an installment booking, the remaining balance is still calculated based on the original total price.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Host-initiated cancellations do not trigger automatic refunds.
