Use Extend<\/strong><\/code> when a guest stays longer, and you need to update the check-out date. If there is an additional amount, Hostex can either record payment immediately or create a charge to collect later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Open the Extend Stay Modal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
    \n
  1. Open the reservation detail page.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. In the General<\/code> section, find the check-in and check-out dates.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Click Extend<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. The Extend Stay<\/code> modal opens.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Enter Extension Details<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
      \n
    1. Enter Extension days<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Review the new check-out date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Enter Additional amount<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
      \n
        \n
      • The currency follows the reservation and cannot be changed in the extension modal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The minimum extension is 1 night.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

        Choose Payment Handling<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

        If Additional amount<\/code> is zero, Hostex treats the extension as free and does not show payment handling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

        If Additional amount<\/code> is greater than zero, choose one of the payment options:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          \n
        • Payment received<\/code>: Hostex records an income transaction for the additional amount.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Payment not received<\/code>: Hostex creates no financial record by default.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • Create a charge to collect payment later<\/code>: available under Payment not received<\/code>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Create a Charge for Later Collection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

          If you select Payment not received<\/code> and check Create a charge to collect payment later<\/code>, Hostex opens the Add charge<\/code> modal after you confirm the extension.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

          The charge is prefilled with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            \n
          • Charge name<\/code>: Extension fee<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Amount<\/code>: the additional amount<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Category<\/code>: Accommodation<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Payment frequency<\/code>: One-time<\/code><\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Due date<\/code>: the new check-out date<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Payment account<\/code>: selected by the default payment account rule<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            Review and save the charge if you want to collect the extension fee later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            Confirm the Extension<\/h2>\n\n\n\n
              \n
            1. Review the note. Hostex generates a default note about the extension.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            2. Click Confirm Extension<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
            3. Hostex updates the check-out date and shows a confirmation message.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              After confirmation, Hostex:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

                \n
              • Updates the reservation check-out date.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Marks the reservation as extended.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Adds an extended<\/code> tag.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Handles the payment according to your choice.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
              • Appends the note to the reservation notes with a timestamp.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                Important<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

                Extending a reservation cannot be undone from the extension flow. If you entered the wrong date or amount, update the reservation and related financial records manually after the extension is created.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
