How to Connect Book With Haven to Hostex

Book With Haven is a direct booking platform for independent hospitality. It builds a branded booking site from the listings you already run in Hostex, so guests can find, reserve, and pay on your own site instead of a marketplace.

Once connected, your Hostex listings, prices, and availability sync into Haven, and every booking made on your Haven site is created in Hostex as a real reservation. Airbnb, Vrbo, and Booking.com close the dates at once, with no iCal feed and no double bookings.

Before you start

  • A Hostex Pro or Premium plan. The connection uses Hostex’s Open API, which is included from Pro up.
  • At least one property connected to a channel. Haven reads listing content, photos, fees, and rules from the channel listing in Hostex. A property with no channel has nothing to import and shows as Needs a channel in Haven. A custom channel such as Haven does not count, because it only labels bookings and carries no listing content.
  • A Haven account. Creating one is free at bookwithhaven.com, and nothing is billed until you publish a site.

One Hostex account connects to one Haven account. You do not need to create an access token yourself: you authorize Haven through Hostex’s authorization page.

Step 1: Connect Hostex in Book With Haven

  1. Sign in to Haven. If you are setting up a new account, the onboarding flow asks you to connect your PMS. If you already have a Haven account, open Host Dashboard, then 集成.
  2. 点击 Connect Hostex, then Sign in with Hostex.
  3. You are taken to the Hostex authorization page. Click 授权 to return to Haven.

Step 2: Let Haven import your listings

Haven imports every Hostex property automatically. Each property arrives with its photos, description sections, amenities, guest capacity, bathrooms, check-in times, house rules, address and map pin, cleaning fee, security deposit, extra-guest fee, discounts, and cancellation policy from its channel listing. Haven reads the Airbnb listing first, then Vrbo, then Booking.com.

If you would rather choose listings by hand, turn off auto-import on the Hostex card under 集成 and select the properties from the list.

Step 3: Choose the channel and payment method for Haven bookings

Hostex files every reservation under a channel and a payment method. Right after you connect, Haven asks which ones to use and starts you on Booking Site 和 条纹, since Haven guests pay by card through Stripe. Click 节省.

To have Haven bookings labeled “Haven” in Hostex, add a custom channel named Haven on Hostex’s 自定义选项 page. While the setup or the Hostex card is open, Haven checks every few seconds and switches to your Haven channel as soon as it exists. You never change a channel you picked yourself.

Until both a channel and a payment method are saved, Haven cannot create bookings in Hostex, and the Hostex card tells you so.

Step 4 (optional): Add Haven details to Hostex stays

On the Hostex card under 集成, turn on Add Haven details to Hostex stays. Haven then writes each stay’s guidebook link and booking reference into Hostex custom fields. Insert them in a Hostex automated message with {{cf.haven_guidebook_url}} 和 {{cf.haven_booking_ref}}.

Step 5: Publish your Haven site

Connect Stripe so guests can pay, connect a domain you own or buy one in Haven, then publish. Your Hostex listings are now bookable directly, and every booking appears in Hostex.

Working day to day

  • Editing listing details. Hostex-synced settings are locked in Haven’s listing editor. Change them in Hostex or on the channel listing, and they update in Haven on the next sync.
  • Changing or cancelling a stay. Stays that came from Hostex or its channels have no Cancel or Modify option in Haven. Cancel or change them in Hostex and the change syncs back. Haven bookings can be changed or cancelled in Haven, and the Hostex reservation updates too.
  • Messaging. Reply from either inbox. Haven’s guidebook and door-code messages follow your Account → Guest communications switches. Messages Hostex sends by itself appear in Haven as messages from you.
  • A channel disconnects in Hostex. If Hostex has lost its connection to your Airbnb account, fees and rules cannot be read. Re-authorize Airbnb inside Hostex and they come over on the next sync.

Already using Haven through Airbnb?

If you connected Haven through Airbnb before this integration, move the properties to the Hostex connection:

  1. 点击 Connect Hostex and sign in with Hostex.
  2. 在 Match your Hostex listings, each listing arrives as Suggested next to the Haven property with the same address or name. Click Accept on each one, or Accept all suggestions.
  3. 点击 审查, then Move N properties. Each property’s calendar is replaced from Hostex.
  4. When the Airbnb card no longer feeds any property, the confirmation offers Disconnect. Disconnect it then, not before.
  5. Remove the Haven iCal feed from Hostex. The Hostex connection creates Haven bookings in Hostex, so the feed is no longer needed.

Disconnecting

Disconnect from the Hostex card in Haven, or revoke Book With Haven on Hostex’s authorized apps page. Imported properties stay in Haven; they just stop syncing.
